Phu Quoc will welcome the first private jet charter which carries 07 British and Polish tourists under the vaccine passport program on Thursday afternoon.
This is also the first group of European tourists visiting Phu Quoc after nearly two years since Vietnam closed its borders and canceled all international flights due to the pandemic.
OnBird Phu Quoc who has launched the project Phu Quoc Sandbox since early September is responsible for bringing this group to Vietnam with the strong support of their partners in Vietnam, especially Roko Travel. The private jet is scheduled to depart from Nakhon Pathom, Thailand which is often referred as Thailand’s oldest city, at 14:00, on 23 December and land at Phu Quoc International Airport at 16:35 on the same day.

Upon arrival in Phu Quoc, the holidaymakers will be welcomed by authorities then undergo Entry Screening which is required as other vaccine passports’ holders in the Phase 1 of Vietnam pilot reopening roadmap.
The group of 7 overseas tourists will enjoy their Christmas and New Year’s Eve holidays during 12 days 11 nights with 3 other family members arriving from Hanoi. After a lot of effort, their family reunion on this special holiday in our Pearl island is a meaningful event not only to the family themselves but to the operators and local travel establishments.
The package tour which includes an 11-night stay at Mövenpick Resort Waverly Phu Quoc – 5 stars resort on Ong Lang Beach, snorkeling and sightseeing activities is scheduled and approved by the Tourism Department of Kien Giang Province.
This group’s activities are totally different from the previous one who only spent 4 days and 3 nights at Vinpearl Phu Quoc – the Northern part of Phu Quoc island.
During the 12 days and 11 nights at Mövenpick Resort Waverly Phu Quoc, our guests would be tested twice, once when they enter the island and again when they complete the Sandbox package (7 days 6 nights).
In the first 7 days and 6 nights of the vaccine passport package, 02 three-bedroom private pool lake view villas are arranged for the family. They are two of 79 large villas overlooking the dazzling sunsets of Phu Quoc island.

Our guests will enjoy their exclusive private Christmas dinner in their villas. On the 27 December, professional tour guides will escort them to the An Thoi Archipelago and indulge in the most anticipated activity while in Phu Quoc – genuine snorkeling. Our guest will embark on a private charter speedboat following touristy-avoiding routes to discover two of the most beautiful snorkeling sites in the South of Phu Quoc: Half-moon reef and Phu Quoc Undersea Coral Mountain. There are underwater guides supporting our guests during snorkeling time and showing them the very best of Phu Quoc coral reefs and abundant marine life.
After snorkeling time, the speedboat will head to the last island – May Rut Trong where they feast on fresh fruits, cocktail party while witnessing the melting sunset.
On the next day, the group of 10 are going to visit the South-East parts of Phu Quoc island with some highlighted destinations, namely: Phu Quoc Pepper Farm, Phu Quoc Fish sauce farm, Ham Ninh fishing village, Sao Beach and feast on a specialty lunch in this area.
After completing the vaccine passport package, our guests will be free and easy to enjoy the New Year’s Eve Dinner and celebration at Movenpick Presidential Four Bedroom Villa with Private Pool – Beach Front. They then transfer back to Thailand on the same private jet. It is scheduled to board at 13:00, on 3rd January, 2022 at Phu Quoc international airport.
Kien Giang is one of five localities to get the green light from the government to welcome back fully immunized tourists from November onwards along with Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, and Da Nang.
From January 2022, holiday-makers who have vaccine passports can combine multiple destinations in Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa (Nha Trang), Da Nang, Quang Ninh (Ha Long Bay) and other localities can be added later. Visitors traveling to other selected destinations are required to have an entry visa application as policies. Those who prefer to visit relatives in Vietnam need to have Immigration Department allow them to change the purpose of entry according to regulations.
