This is unofficial yet but highly possible that Vinpearl will be chosen for the main accommodation under Phu Quoc Sandbox’s Phase 1.
According to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), in the first phase of reopening Phu Quoc to international tourists, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People’s Committee of Kien Giang Province will select a number of qualified tourism and travel establishments to serve international tourists.
Currently, the Kien Giang People’s Committee is still working on the Pilot Plan to welcome international tourists to Phu Quoc using ‘‘vaccine passports’. As of today, October 5, 2021, there is no official list of selective qualified hotels/ resorts and travel establishments published.
We understand that no one wants a sandbox holiday like a “cell block” holiday, that’s why from our perspectives, Sungroup area (in Southern island) or Vingroup area (in Northern Island) will probably be one of the first resorts for tourists in the pilot and the first 3 months of the Roam Phu Quoc campaign with their high capacities in terms of accommodations, entertainment services and safety conditions.

1. Location: Afar and isolated location from the central town – Duong Dong

Bai Dai or Casuarina Beach Phu Quoc has long been renowned for its beauty, due to the establishment of of Vinpearl complex, Bai Dai no longer possesses the original idyllic beauty but its large space and clean & calm water during the dry season (October – April) is still worth a stay.
